Football Sensation Sets His Sights on Poker
The 27-year-old Uruguayan football star is widely considered the game’s best striker. He began his career in his native country of Uruguay at Club Nacional de Football and moved to Europe at the age of 19. He played in the Dutch League with the Groeningen.
A year later, he was part of the AFC Ajax team in the Netherlands. There he competed for 4 seasons and scored 111 goals in 159 games. He was also named Dutch Player of the Year for 2009/2010. His big break came when he signed on with Premier League giant – Liverpool in 2010/2011. His 5.5 year contract has been a godsend for Liverpool and he has already scored 220 goals in 363 matches.
To date, Suarez has been awarded the Barclays Golden Boot as well as the Barclays Player of the Season, thanks to 12 assists and 31 goals.
